About Me
I am very ambitious for my students and am committed to helping them achieve their goals. I understand the challenges that confront them as I have studied a number of languages in different countries. That insight, combined with my long experience as a teacher, enables me to guide my students in developing their skills as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Education
I received my bachelor's degree in Drama from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982. I earned a master's degree in Cinema/Television Production from the University of Southern California in 1992. I received TEFL teaching certification in 2005.
Teaching Experience
I taught Business English for eighteen years in Asia (Sept. 2005 to Sept. 2023) for a number of training providers in Bangkok and Taipei. I also have extensive experience teaching standardized testing (TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS).
Interests
I am interested in ancient history, particularly the Roman Republic. I also have quite a bit of experience as a photographer. Having lived in Germany, Italy, France, Thailand and Taiwan, I am an avid traveler and devotee of traditional cultures.
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
