About Me

It would be an understatement to say that I have had the best mentors in my life. From my time at Syracuse to navigating the grueling job search and now in the publishing industry, I have met some of the most incredible people who continue to foster my success. I hope to pay it forward through tutoring, which has always given me great gratification.

Education

I graduated from Syracuse University in 2018 with a double major in Communication & Rhetorical Studies and Modern Foreign Language (concentrations in French and Spanish). After graduation, I completed an intensive-immersion Russian program at Bryn Mawr College's Russian Language Institute. Before I began working in the publishing industry, I completed my publishing certification at Columbia University.

Teaching Experience

I worked at two different tutoring centers. Likewise, I tutored throughout the majority of my high school years. My role as a tutor was one of the driving forces that inspired me to work in the publishing industry, and it is a job that I have never actually considered to be a “job.” As an Academic Tutor at Syracuse University’s Stevenson Educational Center for Student-Athlete Development, I tutored student-athletes in a variety of subjects including ESL, Sociology, Spanish, Communication & Rhetorical Studies, and Oceanography. In addition to my role as a traditional tutor, I oversaw and aided students during study sessions for midterm and final exams. I was frequently assigned to tutor international student-athletes who were enrolled in ESL writing courses. A significant portion of this work consisted of reviewing research papers and providing editorial feedback. I had the opportunity to work with students from Sweden, Norway, Ukraine, and Russia. Additionally, I worked at Syracuse University’s Graduate School as an English Conversation Partner. In this role, I worked with international master’s and PhD students who were seeking additional practice with their oral English. This role allowed me to work with prominent scholars and helped me to improve my cultural communication skills.
